There is no place else I'd rather be than in Ontario, Canada!

Yesterday, as I looked out the window, a delicate mist hung in the air, wrapping the forest behind us in a soft veil. A thick fog suddenly rolled in, swallowing the landscape around me. It was an eerie sensation as visibility dwindled to no more than ten feet in front of our home. Suddenly, I found my heart aching for countless individuals across Ontario, Canada. This winter had already been relentless for many, but the challenges of this spring have taken a toll like no other. From heavy snowfall and icy rain to frigid temperatures that seemed unyielding, we have witnessed nature’s wrath. Yet, just as quickly, we have experienced a few warm days.

All these conditions have caused havoc. Freezing rain caused thousands of people to lose their hydro, and thanks to Hydro One, who worked around the clock, many homes and businesses have been restored. But many people still experience flooded basements due to sump pumps failing, combined with rainfall and warmer weather causing spring thaws. Unfortunately, many individuals have lost precious belongings. Then there is the matter of food being thrown out from fridges and freezers. The cost of living has risen so much that I feel there will be a lot of families going without. The ones that could replace their food were most likely shocked when they showed up at some grocery store to find out that the freezers and coolers were empty. In my opinion, if we thought life in Ontario, Canada was hard before, it’s going to get a lot worse because, on top of everything else, there is a tariff war going on.
As an individual author, I can't help but think of all the incredibly talented Independent Authors (Indie Authors) out there. The literary world is flooded with brilliant stories waiting to be discovered! We find ourselves hoping that the looming tariffs won't have a negative impact on our ability to share these captivating narratives with readers everywhere.
Oh, and with everything going on around me and the world, there is no place else I'd rather be than in Ontario, Canada! Here, I can freely keep flailing my arms enthusiastically in the air, beckoning to everyone around the globe, “Hey, come on—check out my books!”
Thank you for reading!
